I was in the exact same boat with my 97 GT in the summer. I ordered every replacement patch panel available from LMC and Mills Supply. The hood and front fenders have to be removed to get the front flares off. It is a PITA, but I hope you can keep her on the road! Post up your progress.Removed rear bumper blasted and powder coated black looks great.Pulled off trailer hitch was going to have it blasted and coated but a lot off rot inside so ordered a new one, hitches are like boat trailers rot from the inside out. Then stuck my hand into this bag of potato chips.looked very minimal before I touched it Inside looks new so now I’m committed to do rear fender flare removal. A decent amount of interior removal to access flare studs.
I can prep everything, just don’t have the skills to do finish body work. No shops here want this work. They want quick insurance claims. I have seen your work looks great. I will order parts after assessing damage. Mock it up tack weld and most important find someone to finish. I believe you only painted what was needed.that’s what I would doI was in the exact same boat with my 97 GT in the summer. I ordered every replacement patch panel available from LMC and Mills Supply. Yes. I just painted from lower body line down. You can’t see the tape line unless you are really looking. Post up your progress. Did you use powdered graphite for the lock cylinder? My Rear Defrost at my Barn Doors was not operating. I took red Scotch Brite and isopropyl alchohol to the contacts. After they were polished, I put electrical contact corrosion inhibitor on them. The defrost is working now, but I can’t get the rear door lock/unlock button to activate the rear doors. If I press the rear button, it will actuate the front doors. If I press the buttons at the front doors, they View attachment 361824View attachment 361825will lock and unlock the barn doors. If I use my key at the barn doors, the cylinder is very hard to turn manually, I tried to purge the lock with lubricant. I will leave it, and come back to it. I don’t want to snap my key off in it.
I used LPS 1 greaseless lubricant.Did you use powdered graphite for the lock cylinder?
