I am in Northern California no rust here either, they are only going for more right now because there are not many new ones on the dealer lots
I just picked up a 05 suburban with 150k for 5000 about 3 weeks ago and I only paid that because it is clean and a later year, there were other better deals around but farther away for me to get there before it would be gone already, when I bought the 03 we have I paid 3000 with 100k on the clock and that was 6 years ago
if you are seriously looking to buy you have to check all the listings 2-3 times a day and be the first one there.

Turns out he has all paperwork from both previous owners. It also had a new power steering pump done and the drivers side axle seal when the rear brakes were done.

The KBB price with all the options on window sticker and at 116k miles is between $6042 and $8423. Here is the window sticker.

I recognize the PNW sarcasm. Any helpful comments appreciated as well.

It is both. Like anything, it comes down to how bad do you want it before someone else snaps it up. We bought ours with 117,000 and it has been nearly flawless for 80,000 miles. You really can't go wrong a ride this mint and serviced so fully.

Ok, update. When we first talked this morning he told me another guy wanted the rig but had to apply for a loan. He was waiting to hear back from the guy. I told him I had cash.

He just texted me that the guy called and got his loan approved, I don't know for how much, and that the guy was going to come in Saturday and negotiate a trade in with him. That may or may not fall through. I told him what KBB said and that if the deal fell thru to let me know and I would drive there on Sunday to look at the Tahoe. That is where we re at.

He also did supply pics of the receipts for the rear brakes, park brake shoes, rotors and driver's side axle seal and a new power steering pump and belts and idlers and tensioners.

The car fax shows regular oil changes and service work. No wrecks. First 65k miles in Montana and a pilot owned it. Since then has been in Oregon.

My current Tahoe has no problems at all. No rust. Has 163,510 miles right now. I am always looking for a better 2002 though with lower miles. I am just now starting to hear a small liter tick noise. If I can find a 2002 in great condition with better paint and lower miles, I will likely get it. Mine has the clear coat rash at the top of each door on the driver's side. Not on the roof but on the door.

I feel like if you can make a deal that you like, go for it!

I look all the time but the vast majority, over 95%, have more miles than mine. The reason I was drawn to this one is that it has a clean car fax, great paint, low miles and the seller has all the paperwork from both previous owners that show all mechanical repairs and maintenance's done besides LOF's. Plus he was willing to let me swap my rims and tires. Since I live where I work I only put almost 4k miles a year on my rig. If I decide to paint mine it is going to cost me between $4k and $5k for it or cheapo it at MAACO. Decisions decisions...............

Just for fun - and reference, I think this one was owned by a fire dept.
