Mine usually reads 14.7-14.8(one dash above 14v) sometimes a little higher when I start it in the morning. I'd have the alt tested just to be safe.

Mine looks exactly like yours (02 yukon 4wd) but when I use my VOM it's @ 14.0 volts with engine running, 12.2 with engine off. I don't think the on board voltmeter is well calibrated.

Mine is just over 14 as well, unless I'm really playing some shit loud as hell...I need a bigger alternator at some point but the lights don't really dim much.

1 tick above 14V all the time (til i get my subs). I have heard the gauge can be off by quite a few volts. Dont bother testing the alternator yet. Put a volt meter across the battery terminals while the engine is running. compare that to the gauge to find you gauge error. hope for 14.7 on the meter, if you get much more then test the alternator. It could have a bad regulator and you want to get it fixed before it fries something.

Mines reads 14.8 when started cold, then settles to 14.1 after it's slightly warmed up.
I know it's right because I have a voltage stabilizer w/a digital voltage readout on it mounted on the battery.
