Guys, I just changed my oil and had to use the old oil filter because freakin Summit racing sent me the wrong replacement filter! I have to make do with the old one since I live overseas and just can't go to the auto parts store for another. So I have to wait another 2 weeks to get another one in the mail.
Anyways, I noticed a significant change in oil pressure after I changed the oil. I don't know of its because I have the old filter on still with fresh oil or what. Before, I ran easy 60-65 psi on cold start up and when it got warm, it dropped to about 40 at idle an hit 47-50 psi when I got on the gas. Now, it's a little over 40 psi at start up and drops down to about 20-25 at idle then I'll be lucky to hit 40 when I'm on the gas. She's got a little over 77k on the original motor. I also use 10w-30 Mobil 1 full synthetic.

Any thoughts??

Damn. Didn't know that. I'll change it when I get the correct filter in. That would explain the lower pressure with a heavier weight...

Just ordered another filter from Summitracing. They better not screw this order up or I'm not gonna order from them again. I went with a K&N gold filter. It's the one I had on there before...

Turns out, I got another oil filter from summit and it was the wrong one. I called them and complained and they told me it was one for a 2wd tahoe. I didn't know there were different ones for the 4wd. Although, summit said it was good for the 4wd.
I ended up getting one from autozone and they sent the right one. Thank goodness.

And, I put Mobil 1 5w-30 and the oil pressure hasn't changed. That's weird because before the oil pressure was pretty high now it's sitting at mediocre levels.... Any explanation for this??

Perhaps you slightly overfilled your oil before causing above average oil pressure? Try adding another half quart
