i mean if it is a small utility or like a pop up camper and only a couple thousand pounds then there should be no issues basically no matter the truck setup. but if looking to push capacity then there may be some other things to consider and look into.

I can tell you my '14 burb with the 3.08 rear end can handle up to about 6K and that's all she's got. Over that you will us 2nd gear a lot!

I have 3.73 RA and tranny cooler on my Yukon (not XL). The first 60K of its life it pulled 5K lbs quite nicely (although I did have to replace the tranny at 76K).

There is no way I would pull 8100 lb.

I mean I have pulled close to the 8k mark several times with a couple different 1500's but definitely not something I recommend on the regular without a 2500. They all have 3.73 accept the 2500 it has 8.1 4.10

Towing a car trailer with a 1994 Ford Bronco on it.View attachment 305524

depending on what the rated capacity actually is, the distance and the type of terrain would determine what all should/will need to be done.

i am gonna guess your about 7,000# behind there, and even if your at the 8,100 capacity your close enough to the limit that if you pull it regular or far i would say you should have more truck, and defiantly if your at the 5,100 ( or whatever it was)

now this is not to say that it wont DO the job just that it would be pushing it enough that safety and reliability will be issues. as it will be fine, till it isnt.
