What is this? Business card holder?

I think it is some sort of sensor for the HVAC. My Volvos have something similar located in the sender stack just below the infotainment screen.

As was explained a few posts ago- it's a card holder. It's for debit/ATM/credit card, proximity card (gate pass, etc.), ID/badge holder... Just for the convenience of the typical fat, lazy American to have close to the window controls. On these models, it's where the HUD controls would be. Instead of leaving it as a blank (wasted) space on the models without HUD, they made it... something. It's been around for about five years now since the NNNBS trucks came out.

They have been putting this in the pickup trucks since '14. My GMC Sierra has it, in a slightly different location...its for business cards or debt cards, or gate passes. Too bad its not deep enough and the card stick out about half way.

Damn! I wish my truck had that slit! It’s for parking garage card/access holders. Would be very helpful.

On my '07 I stick my card in the slit between the wood trim and the radio.
