what is the antenna above the driver side door? is it for onstar? can i remove it if i do not intend to use onstar? i want to shave it but i am nervous that it might throw a wrench in the system and i might have probs later....

yes onstar and you can remove it.

it's xm and onstar antennas combined. there is a hole in the roof if you remove it. if you're not going to use either there isn't a problem to remove it that i know of other than having to fill the hold properly.

I have a friend that bought a truck without the stereo upgrade or onstar just so he didn't have them on the truck...lol.

I would prefer to not have it but I dont pay much attention to it.

What would have been really smart is if they put it in the front-center instead of the left. Then it would look like a mohawk!

i have thought the same thing, but at the back of the cab on a truck or rear of a hoe/yuk.

you cant remove that! Its an air fin that prevents roll overs! ....lol

Just a note: I have heard that car thieves will rip them off if they steal your truck and then Onstar has no way of tracking your vehicle.

that or they can just unhook the battery and Onstar cant track it.
