i've had a similar issue with my 01 Denali. turned out the AC belt was ripped and gone somewhere on a highway haha. the ac compressor was hard to turn by hand but once i put the new belt on it spun perfectly fine. i assume your belt is still on the compressor since you tried spinning it correct ? if the belt is on, turn your AC then shine your light on the compressor and watch it for few secs. if it doesnt spin whatsoever then its a bad compressor. hope that helps

with the car running and ac on. i dont know if they are but if the clutches on these compressor are magnetic, very very carefully take a long prybar and touch the compressor clutch. it should be magnetized.

Keep in mind that most 00-06 NBS yukons, tahoes, and suburbans have the a/c compressor running all the time. Even with the a/c and defrost off. Its no wonder the compressors are failing early.
