What light socket??

I have a 00 Escalade with a corroded light bulb socket for my lower front turn signal. My local shop says its a 40$ part from the dealer. Can I replace it with a cheapo unit? Even if I have to splice it, what bulb is it?

My shop finally got the socket, I seen the invoice from the dealer. AC/Delco P/N LS49 retail 87.00 his cost 61.00........WTF, even ebay there anywhere from 45-90

Any suggestions? I also seen Standard S-868 fits but same price.......

Yes exactly! How can this be? There must be some type of resistor or something built into the plug.

Anyone know a local junk yard that has one?

I would think either available supply or special material cost.
