I'm new to the forum but not new to modding. May I suggest you skip the factory navigation, which sucks in my opinion and buy a Rosen car show GM1210. I own a 2008 Suburban LTZ and I pulled out the factory navigation in perfect working condition and swapped it for this unit. It was around $700 from ADC mobile but it is head and shoulders above the factory unit in every way and now I have Bluetooth which they didn't offer in 2008 and the sound quality through my factory Bose system is much much better now.

Just my 2 cents but for the price of the factory navigation I would much rather have the GM1210.

thanks for that, I was going to get a used unit. can't afford a new one.
as long as I still have xm radio, the nav which I assume my shark fin on the roof has it built in and a connector for it I'll be happy. one thing I'd like to know is if the nav unit offers Bluetooth music too or just calling the stock radio I have now?
a backup cam, and lock pick unit for side mirror cams is something else I also want.

The GM1210 is absolutely plug & play... It will retain your factory XM radio and steering wheel controls. The factory navigation antenna actually mounts under the dash panel between the defroster vents, you just pop up the front panel on your dash and there is a spot for it towards the passenger side. It does allow Bluetooth music through A2DP.

A lock pick isn't necessary for this unit, it literally does it all.

Here is a link to where I bought mine and it will give you all the details and Walt the owner is a really stand up guy and gives great customer service:

You can even install custom splash screens for when the unit boots up when you start your truck and it has a micro SD card slot where you can listen to music, look at pictures or watch videos on the screen. You can download entire movies on it and watch it straight from the SD card.

I also forgot to mention that I have a front camera I installed along with my factory rear camera hooked up to this unit and I installed a switch so I can control both cameras while driving forward and still allow the reverse camera to function as intended when placing the vehicle in reverse, and it still has an extra video input if you wanted to install side mirror cameras. Walt also offers back up cams that will install in the factory location as well.

I posted pics of my set up in my introduction thread found here:http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/new-guy-checking-in.90888/

I almost forgot... I love your avatar... Come and take 'em... Lol

kbuskill is right I bought the Rosen 1210 from Walt and never looked back. This unit will allow you to hook anything you can imagine up to it. I had the factory nav unit and there is a big difference in the units. I can now hook my Droid to it and play music where the factory one only makes calls. I can still use my steering wheel control too. Plus Walt can set your start up screen to what ever picture you want. It also looks factory so I didn't have to hear the wife's mouth :fca5278d: about spending money since I had a radio that worked :Big Laugh:.

I installed the K&N cold intake and can tell a difference in the power and it sounds great. I haven't seen a gain in fuel economy but it's probably because I love the sound and can't keep my foot out of it.
