What type of oil you runnin??

5w30 Mobil 1 synthetic.

I was using 10w30 high mileage castrol, but I get a good deal on the Mobil 1 through work now.

Holy 10 thousand huh, Hows your oil look when you drain it? I'm thinking about startin to run synthetic, I heard from a coworker he switched to synthetic and gained a few mpg's too.

It's dark. It doesn't worry me, I care what the engine looks like. I've run a few motors this way, once torn down they always look great. My 225K motor runs great with no leaks or smoke, so I'm guessing it's probably pretty good inside. (Compression is great too, even across all cylinders.) Yeah, the original cam is probably getting tired, that's to be expected. The engine has had a lot of hard running too. I'm more worried about the tranny. It's getting a little bit slippery shifting 2-3. Hopefully it will hold on till I swap in a late model 6.0L with it's tranny. That's probably 2 years off...

285K Castrol 5w30 always. 4k oil changes sometimes get stretched to 5k on long road trips.
