They look to me like a more symmetrical version (6 spoke vs 7) of the platinum wheels.

Yes this is true, EXCEPT the fact that it has a huge ugly protruding center cap

My paper thin sidewall days are far behind me.

You REALLY need to go for a ride in my wife's Burban. Rides alot nicer on the 24s than it did on her stock 20s.
