What's a decent paintjob cost?

Be careful of those people that do the job at home. I took my 01 Silverado to get the hood repainted it looked damn good for a while. After about 2 years the clear started to literally fall of the hood. I know all people are not the same but just be careful.

hm ok good to know. I'll ask around and see if anyone has had this guy do work a while back and check long-term quality.

Yeah and if someone's price is considerably lower than the rest there may be a good reason for that. It's not always that good of a deal in the long run.

Yep I've learned that in other ventures. If I decide to write an autobiography, the title will be "It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time," the Story of My Life.

Also, just had the Burban clay barred and compounded over the weekend. Took away alot of swirls and small scratches and make the paint look deep and wet.

It's the best choice aside from paint correction and about 25% of the cost.

The heck with a new paint job, I'm going to have mine wrapped. No paint issue or anything, just want to change the look. Haven't decided on color yet or where I'm going to have it done. Should be way less than a paint job, I think!

His name is steven13608. If you get good vinyl, it will have a 4 year warranty and if you do it yourself, will take a few days and run you around $700

If you pay someone to do it, it will be $3,000 to $4,000

My quotes are 4.3k - 5k and thats nothing done to the door jams, under hood or hatch.
1k for a pearl paint job? Quality materials would almost cost that

Yeah, I think it's worth taking to that guy that does work at home; he comes recommended and has done work for folks I know, so maybe he'll take a look and we can make a plan for what needs to be done and what doesn't.

Don't be intimidated by the guy working out of his house. My old neighbor used to do work on the side out of his house and it was quality. He knew what he was doing and has been doing body/paint work for 20+ years.
