^ as an apparently old man, i noticed that's the mindset these days.

I got put through the ringer trying to get my c4 vette a suspension alignment.

The issue was because i rebuilt the suspension, and lowered the car.
Made the suspension all sorts of out of wack.
As soon as these kids saw the instructions included shims, they threw in the towel.

And of course instead of explaining the time related issues.
They decided it was easier to be dicks and make me go away.

Final shop before i enlisted help finding a corvette friendly place turned out to have an employee that was a the crazy brain damaged son of the neighbor behind me...

Summary: Sand in fluids, brakes failed, very happy my aftermarket valve covers don't have an oil fill cap, etc.

Dash cam rolling ftw.

My advice if you need a shop, find a local club and ask for a referral.

I did that with the local vette community, i now have an awesome alignment shop.
It's a bit of a drive, but i totally trust them.
(And i don't trust anyone).

:2cents:

dealt with a similar occurrence when i was doing a 79 vette. trying to find a place that had the parts required to properly do a quadrajet.

I am quite fond of the Q-jet carbs.
if shops that were actually capable of fixing them were willing to part with the stuff to fix them id like them more. if you happen to need or want one i have 2 sitting in my garage collecting dust. one is a 750 version manual transmission setup the other is an 800 version automatic setup.

Over the years I have learned that there are precisely two kinds of mechanics: those who like Quadrajets and know how to work on them, and those who don’t. If you need something done right on any kind of car, it’s best to take it to the former.

well im no carb guru but when you quite literally cant buy a real kit for a quadrajet to replace anything its quite hard to fix one that has been let go for as long as the one i recently dealt with. gaskets the fuel filter and accelerator plunger was the best i could find and i needed more than that.
