I'm upgrading my stereo to the new AVH-4000NEX i am wondering what the best harness to buy for it is? I was going to buy the gmos-lan-02 but found out that this pioneer also works with idatalink maestro too, i have never worked with that one and just wondering what is the best out there?

Maestro hands down. I have yet to use it on the Pioneer models yet but love it on the Kenwoods! Only issue would be some of the parameter settings. You need to have the flash cable to be able to flash it to your vehicle.

I have a used one on the bench if you are interested. PM me and we can see if we can work it out if I send it to you already programmed.

the GMOS piece may be a tad easier to install since the Maestro does so many things depending on how it is configured/wired though.

so i data link is recommending the Maestro RR, GM5 (ADS-HRN(SR)-GMS05) those are required and the optional accessories AVGM5 (ADS-HRN(AV)-GMS05), SPGM5 (ADS-HRN(SP)-GMS05) so if i get all of those does the flash cable come with it?

ok so i bought the Maestro RR, GM5, and the AVGM5. The maestro came with a usb cable to connect to my computer to flash it and i bought everything that is available that was recommended the only thing i didnt get was the SPGM5, the audio place i went through said they cant get that yet. not like i really need it. all it is, is a speaker for the chimes instead of going through the factory speakers. everything works perfect and it was nice i was able to flash it to my impala radio because the radio i ordered the avh-4000NEX just came out and it will not be here until friday and i just cant wait that long with no radio and then when i get it i will just flash it to my new radio!!

Cant wait till you hook it up. I have been thinking of that same combo. So make sure you post some pics and reviews on the new NEX radio and Idatalink.

Yeah, I can't find much on the iDatalink/Nex setup. I have everything here (Maestro RR) waiting for the 8000NEX, I think Im going crazy waiting for them to give a release date on it.

Yeah my supplier was just talking about these. They got a few in and lasted about 10 minutes before they sold out. I'd love to swap out my unit I have in there now but then I'd lose my lifetime subscription to my sirius tuner :( Here's the Maestro with a new Kenwood installed in a new Enclave

Funny thing was that I ended up needing to pull the unit back out because the wife (thank God not mine) thought the Kenwood looked too aftermarket. ???
