Don't sweat the U1000 code.

Your throttle position sensor secures to the side of your throttle body. Chances are it needs to be replaced. Its a variable resistor, things wear out. Test and inspect to see if that's your problem.

The evap vent is under the car. It's a black cylindrical piece in the rear, IIRC it's by the spare tire. Check to make sure that your gas cap is tight and the seal is in good condition, that the rest of the system is free of cracked hoses or leaks, and check the valve itself.

Snowdrifter thanks for the reply. Ill check both of those things. This may or may not be related. But the yukon was 90%dead yesterday when i went to start it. Had to go to work. Come home and start to jump the yukon. As i do, the ground on the battery shoots huge sparks. I tested alternator and its perfect. I have a draw test screwdriver thing. I disconnect the ground to battery and continue to pull each fuse under hood and on side of dash. Each fuse i pull the light still shows on the draw screwdriver(tell me what the name if this is lol). Last year i had a pro electrician look at the same issue and it was the cluster. Had it rebuolt and everything was good. My cluster looks good now. No lights out or anything. What should i look for?

First of all let me say that my dog who is growling in his sleep and I, a retired electrician can help a little bit, for what is worth, but obviously you can go back to your electrician again.
First of all, if you want to understand some of these codes more clearly, use youtube search function or google. Watch the videos on evaporative emissions controls and you will know quickly all you need to know on that subject. That vent control solenoid circuit is running to the solenoid mounted on or near your fuel tank . The solenoid could be bad, the wire harness could be damaged, a connector could be corroded near the solenoid. Codes are clues, not diagnoses.

The above answers by rawvortec are right on.

One other thing, do your self a favor. Don't jump modern vehicles Charge up the battery or replace. Jump starting when the battery is dead can blow out things like that nicely rebuilt gauge cluster. Modern electronics like your home computer doesn't like big sparks at all. It introduces Huge amounts of electrical noise into that sensitive "hoe" that you want to start up and run reliably.

Good luck!

so after more research there has been a lot of fingers pointing at grounds on the vehicle. specifically the one behind the engine block. I see where it is attached to the firewall, but I can't seem to follow it to the block. Does anyone know how to get back there?
