its best to break the axle nut loose with the truck still on the ground. you also have to remove the caliper bracket.

This means I will need to go through the rim center right? I don't think my rims have enough gap to pass a 36mm socket :banghead:

the caliper slide bolts should be a big torx head bolt and then the caliper bracket bolts are 18mm.

Thanks for the info. I'm taking notes . :drink_nl:

See this is why I like to ask the questions first , there's no worse feeling than being stuck on something that could be done right off the bat

I did mine recently, and I bought a 3 jaw puller to push the hub assembly back of the steering knuckle.

Axle nut really isnt all that tight, I cant recall torque spec. But as stated above your best cracking it loose with tire still on ground.

You will need wrench to loosen hub to knuckle bolts as there isnt the clearance for sockets. Ez job.

the axle nut will pull the hub back into the steering knuckle and then of course torque everything to proper specs.

I am also planning on changing out one of mine this weekend. Does anyone know what the proper torque specs are for the axel bolt and hub bolts?

i picked up a 3 jaw puller today and a set of hand wrenches

ive been looking for the torque specs and found it using a google search

Tighten the wheel bearing mounting bolts with a 3/8-inch drive ratchet and socket, along with a 6-inch extension only until they are snug. Remove the extension and socket from the ratchet and install them onto a 3/8-inch drive torque wrench. Tighten the wheel bearing mounting bolts completely to 133-foot-pounds of torque. Install the spindle nut onto the end of the axle, and tighten the nut to 106-foot-pounds of torque using a 3/8-inch drive torque wrench and socket. Connect the electrical wiring connectors together by simply pushing them together with you hands.

You could take wheel off and hold brake down to break it loose if you had too.

That's exactly what I did.

Question though. I noticed there is a ground cable showing near my left shock. Anyone seen this?
