Hi folks,

So as some of you know I am putting the ol' girl back to oem.

Next to go will be the 24" Enkeis which I soon want to put up for sale.

However, over the last couple of months I've been the unsuspecting victim of the seldom spotted but well documented 'leaping curbs' which have attacked me out of the blue. :(

Resulting in this shameful state:

Two of the scuffs are on one wheel, the other on another ... two wheels have to date been spared from the evil curbs.

Now my questions for anyone who might know are the following:

1. Is it possible to repair these marks and how much would it cost?

2. Should I repair them myself then sell them or just discount the sale price accordingly in case someone wants heavily discounted beautiful rims and doesn't care about the scuffs?

Keep in mind that as bad as they look in the above pics, in RL you have to stand really up close to even notice.

Anyhoot, thanks in advance for any any help, input, and/or suggestions.

Cheers!

Taking the rim off to even fix it will be a cost. For some odd reason most places don't fix chrome aftermarket rims (most just want to do non chrome factory).. maybe it's just my area... bc i've called several places and they all told me that.

If you're planning on selling anyway I'd just sell them "as-is" as it won't be worth your money to repair them then sell them as you'll never recoup your costs to do so  Especially if the blemishes are truly minor enough to not be noticed unless you're real close to the rim.

What I am considering doing is keep 'em, have 'em sand or bead blasted, fix the little scuffs, and powdercoat them to match the truck ...

Much inspirational ... :)

I have seen and heard of companies that does fix scuffs like that but I don't have any links handy nor can I remember their names :( If you're wanting to keep them then I'd Google "wheel repair" or something and see if you can't locate a company in your area for that. I have no idea what it costs, though.

Ahh the murdered out all black look huh? Interesting. Such beautiful chrome rims though... guess the OEM 22 idea is out the window?

No it's not out ... but I'm not going to give these away on the cheap either just because of a couple of scuffs. So I am investigating the cost and feasibility of repair, and thinking out loud about alternative courses of action.

It's all up in the air right now so I'm trying to inform myself before I make a final decision.

You might even be able to fix the wheel and keep them chrome and might be cheaper since you'll have to do two wheels as opposed to going all 4 with the black wheel option :)
