I am going to go to a 20" and sell the 22"'s
Or maybe a 18" ;) I have missed out on a few...which means they are coming up a lot.

Any thoughts on the tires mentioned in the original post?

I have driven in the snow on 22’s and they do fine. Up and around in the Cascade Mountains up here. There’s no reason why they wouldn’t.
Because of the wider width and shorter sidewalls?

Width has nothing to do with wheel size, you can put the same width tire on a 22 x 9 wheel as an 18 x 9. And explain why sidewall height matters. Traction is the contact pad, you’re not driving on the sidewalls.

The drawback for me and 22s is that our mountain roads eat through tires SO quickly, and tires for 22s are just too damn expensive to be gone through that quickly. I can’t justify that for living in the snow and the mountains.
