When is an order number available?

When can one get a order number to track the status of a yukon xl order? My dealership said it's not available until after its been built. Is this correct?

Should be on the build sheet when you order.

I ordered mine on a Saturday and they emailed my order number Tuesday.

I was told the same thing at first, probably because they don't want us bothering them all the time seeing where the order is at in production. In reality, the number is generated as soon as the order is created in the system which means whenever they send it to GMC.
