I think it goes from the battery to the relay block under the hood. Did you upgrade that wire and just leave the old one in perhaps?

It goes to the harness you see circled in the pic. Far as I can see it go...

Battery relay box is on the opposite side; all those wires are red, this one is orange and wouldnt reach at all. I havent done anything to any wires. Its as new to me as it is to you. I dont have a clue...

We crew of Steves should be able to figure this out LOL

DOH! My battery box is on that side, those Vortecs are weird man. Perhaps it was for a brake controller ... does it have voltage??

Three Steve's don't make a right.

I really doubt it was for anything aftermarket. I got it from the original owner, and I cant imagine this person ever knew when to change to oil, let alone use it for anything other than picking up groceries.

I noticed it when I was installing the master cyl. It was all over it with no sparks. Don't think its hot, but Ill check with a VM when I can.

Actually, thinking about it more, I wouldnt think this would route this way at all (at least by design). Either it is after market, or it is suppose to follow the wire loom further down. I think I need to find out which direction it goes and stretch it to the opposite, then maybe from here I will know the vicinity it belongs in.

If it's like the Silverados, there are typically two wires that are left unhooked by the factory, tucked up under the brake booster. One for the trailer brake controller, one for the constant power in the trailer harness. Looks to be one of those two.

Well, I was wrong. I had found some sort of aftermarket wireing and box under the driver side dash. It wasnt hooked up to anything and didnt look like it went to this wire. Ill post up pics and see what y'all think.
