Where is the stock subwoofer?

I just bought a 2003 yukon xl with Bose. I had always thought these came with a stock sub. Where is it located?

It's located inside the center console underneath the dash

I believe you have to remove the center console to do it. if so then you have to pull the front seats to remove the console. as for size I believe its a 6.5. could be wrong though

Correct

That's for the rear of the 00-02. 03-06 is a 6.5" down in the center console.

Nathan, is there a thread already on how to replace the sub with something with more thump?

I dont believe you can really gain much by replacing the front sub.

however there are several threads on people adding a 8" in the stock box in the rear stock location.

Ok cool. I was thinking that would be larger than 8"? It looks bigger, but I'll check later. Do yall know of a thread on putting one back there? As far as stiffening it up and making it more durable for vibrations.

Oh, man I thought the rear mounted one in the earlier vehicles was a 10".

6.5" woofer? What a waste...

I've got an old kicker 10" laying around I'd love to find an inexpensive way to mount in the rear.
