So today i was fitting my new dvd player and found that with the radio plugs removed there is still a door chime. Doesn't seem to be impacted by removing the factory radio.

What do you all think about moving the driver door speaker (and appropriate wiring) to some place under the dash so I can still here it?

This seems better than one of those 85$ harnesses that have numerous bad reviews citing several problems (bad chime tone, radio comes on or off at the wrong times)

The chime will stay on as long as you dont disconnect the wiring harness from the bose amp, well i think thats the way mine worked. there is a big connector or speaker wires and such under your center console if you leave it connected I think it should still work but if if you do like I did which was run my own speaker wires then the chimes are gone.

Oh yeah sorry guys I completely forgot to look at that wire Im gonna go find it in a few minutes.

Well I decided to get you all that care a pic

Here you can see the wire that I tapped into

In this pic you can see the wire also my finger is at the top of the box, it comes out by squeezing a top tab and bottom tap

So by tapping into this wire your radio and etc. will not turn off until like 15 mins and/or you open a door. I tapped into it and ran it to a relay and then wired all of my radio and amp remote wires to it.

Tntahoe:
It's a little hard to tell from the pictures; is that a blue with white stripe?
