WHERE to ground to chassis?

Alright so I've looked all over this forum and I can't find a specific answer.

Where is a good/best spot to secure the ground wire for an amp?

I'm currently running 4g wire, but might upgrade to 0g. The amps will be under the middle row of seats. The only bolts I can find that dont have the giant torx heads are the ones holding the middle row of seats, but I haven't seen anyone use these, and I think I read somewhere that they are not a good grounding point. I would like to find a place where i can use a bolt with a nut, not a self drilling screw, which would mean being able to reach both sides of the sheet metal with a wrench. i'm ok with drilling a new hole if I have to. I also don't want to run a second run of wire to the negative terminal.

So with that being said, where do you guys ground your systems, or where do you recommend? I'm looking for specific locations, not just "somewhere in the back" or "anywhere on the chassis".

One more thing, does anyone know if there is a write up on doing a big 3 upgrade, it doesnt appear to be as simple as ground wire, alternator wire, and starter wire (?).

I used a different seat bolt for all three of my amps and get no noise or any problems

oh good, so those will work. did you guys put the ring terminal between the body and the black bracket that the bolt is holding down, or did you just put it between the bracket and the washer?

Unscrewed the seat bolt a little bit, and put the wire under the washer, then tightened it down again. Worked out well.

I of course sanded the paint so it's get a good contact. It works as long as you get it tight enough. I did the same thing with my cap. I should make it clear that it does have a crimp on ring on the end of the wire. not just loose wire lol.

anyone have any info on the big 3? i did notice theres a red junction box on the drivers side of the alternator where one wire comes from the battery, one wire goes towards the engine, but i think loops back to the fuse box, and a third smaller wire that comes from the alternator. do you keep the box with the bigger wires? whats the stock wire gauge?

You can grind off some paint to bare metal and use a large diameter sheet metal screw like so. I do it this way all the time. Works good and it's super easy.
