i havent looked at the muffler recently, is it possible to unbolt the stock one and bolt up a new one? or do i cut off the old one and weld in the new one?

Cut out old muffler, then weld up the new one

id rather have a bolt on system so if and when i get tired of it i can just pull in the driveway and swap over, no welder needed... i think im going with the magnaflow if its relatively quiet...

Just have a muffler shop weld up a flowmaster 50 or a magnaflow. You're dropping a good $400-$500 on a catback that doesn't net much more gain than a simple muffler swap. They sound awesome dumped over the axle facing down too...then there is no need to maintain the finish on a tip

x2....You can get the 50 series or Magnaflow for around $100 and a shop shouldn't charge ya more than $40 to just weld it up there. You could do this swap several times before you spend the $400 - $500 it'd take for a cat back system :deal:

On my 01 hoe I have the 50 series. Love it. Sounds good... not too loud but still a light rumble.

ours was dumped just after the muffler and it drove me nuts with the drone..no way around it since its bouncing off the pavement and the bottom of the car...i had to get it exited out properly in order to maintain our sanity...plus its safer when she's sittin in traffic, no exhaust going under the car w/no place to go...
