Who is running 265 or 285 on a 9inch wide wheel?

I have 265 75 16 on my HOE. I was told the 17" wheel equivalent would be 265/70/17.

That been said... I would like to install that tire on a wider than stock rim, its 9" wide. How will this fit and look? I just want a wide tire. I was really wanting 285/70/17s on her.

i don't see why it shouldn't be a problem, I'm running 305/35/24's here with a few rubbing but that's cause i have a drop on it....

I personally wouldn't run anything wider then 285/70/17

I'm running 285's on 16's no rub at all stock height and wheels.

BFG All Terrains. I'd like a 9.5 rim myself since the tire is applicable to it.

i'm running 285/65/17s on my stock 17" rims.

if you go with a 285/70/17, you'll lose some power and will have to re-calibrate your speedometer

Pics please.... That is a very good option. So you are saying the 285 /65 / 17 be near equivalent to a 265 / 70 / 17 ? or a 265 / 75 / 16 thats on the truck now?

I want performance of the truck to be about the same as it is now.

285/65/17 is almost identical to 265/70/17

Im really glad I got your response, Im all for keeping performance or increasing it at the same time. I am never going to lower the truck, or lift it higher for that matter. I really love how those 285/65/17s look on your truck, I just have 1 question. Can I get some MORE pics? Especially how wide the tires look from the rear and the front. I think I am 85% sure Im going with that size, and maybe some black Soft8s. The rim will be 17x9. So I take it the 285/65/17s look even wider on the 9"wide rim?

i'll try to get you some more pics soon. might not be till the weekend though, since i'm usually stuck at work during the daylight hours.

only thing that sucks with the 285/65s, is that there aren't very many options to go with.
