Why does my Yukon smell like gas?

I'm really dieing to get these put on.

Great taste :D

Where did you find those? I rarely see those come up for sale....

I hope the top of my tank doesn't look like yours.....When it comes time for my pump I'm gonna have my mechanic buddy tackle the job....

Yea it was a mess. After dinner, I drove like a complete madman trying to burn off fuel. :) However, it was so rusted, it might have been leaking just as the system pressurizes. I'm hoping a new pump gives me a little boost in power too. Thats alot of miles on an original. Besides this and a wheel hub, the Yukon has always been wonderfully reliable. Like all my GM trucks really.
Ohsixx - I've been searching for years for a clean set of 805's. These popped up on Ebay one sunday morning. I made a quick offer and got em. I had wanted to get them on in fall to enjoy them before the snow flew but I had the Yukon in the body shop fixing a few blemishes. By the time I had it back and situated it was already mid november. Its the family hauler but I still try to keep it as perfect as I can, within reason. I'm planning on Nitto 421's, I only need great wet and dry traction, and those are made in the U.S. If anyone has opinions I'm open to them.

I love my 805's...they are pretty clean for being original. I have a little flaking inside the lugholes but otherwise they are good. I have the Nitto NT421Q's and love them. I picked them up in summer and they have seen all weather conditions already. No complaints at all and they have a nice look to them-both sidewall and tread pattern. Mine are in a 275/55/20.
Those 805's will make your Yukon look night and day different.

Well the pump was delayed for one day because of the snowstorm out east, but it was worth it. Pump is identical to my original one, part number mu1683 is for a flex fuel vehicle. I also replaced/spliced new quick connect fuel lines from the pump. Both my originals had the broken off pieces from the old pump stuck in them that I couldn't get out. HELP! brand (I think?) had perfect quick connect lines with couplers in both sizes I needed, made for an easy fix for what could have been a pita. Reassembly is pretty straightforward.
She fired right up with no check engine light and was back to her normal purring self. Hopefully this pump will last another 153,000 miles, although that pump never really failed, just rusted away. Next in line: new 6 disc changer or navi head unit. Then, Nittos....
Thanks for all the help guys!

Did you change the filter? If not, do it. A plugged up filter will kill your new pump.
