Haha that is true but this is my mom we're talking about, she is NOT one for customization. Never heard of a dealer letting someone take one home for a night though, I might check that out.

Most dealers do a 24hr test drive. They just require you to not put many miles on the car. At least the dealerships where I live let you do this. How are we supposed to decide what we want and like in a 10 minute test drive? My opinion, get the Escalade. The only thing FORD did right was put a circle around the problem...

I think a 24-hour test drive sounds neat. My mom would do it for the Navigator but not the Escalade because there's no point, lol.

The tail lights and rear lift gate on the Nav's are fugly. An Escalade is much more attractive. Have her look at the GL450

Yeah...although I had an idea - what if you smoke the red parts of the lights only? That might look good on a black Navigator.

The GL450 has that crossover look she doesn't really care for. If she goes that route, it will be the new Cadillac SRX.

Why not through the Full Size Mercedes SUV into the mix? It seems to win every comparison it's in in EVERY MAGAZINE lol..

Haha that may be true but my mom is not wanting anything European made. Because of our location, the dealerships are hours away. This would mean that if it broke down, towing it there would be a fortune, as well as ordering parts and labor costs. My parents' body shop had a Land Rover in for repair once and they had to wait an entire 6 months for a part to arrive.

So, no foreign cars can be added to this list, although Lexus is an exception if you consider it foreign/imported.

Both the Escalade and Navigator have hideous styling in my opinion. The Benz GL is the best in class and you must live way in the backwoods if theres no Mercedes dealership around. I'd take the Benz, then a Audi Q7, then probably a new Yukon Denali. I wouldn't even consider a new escalade or a navigator. Escalades drivetrain is great, but I rather get the better styled Denali and save 7-9k
