I have an 07 LT flex 4x4 that my dad bought new and almost fully upgraded (doesnt have the rear backup camera GPS stereo)... Anyway i had to have three windows replaced because some jerk broke into my car that way and i think they may have screwed one up... My question is, does the far rear drivers side window have a defroster (the lines and hookup coming from the ceiling) on it like its opposing buddy, the far rear passenger side one, does?... My low effort superficial scan did not turn up an unconnected defroster wire, but maybe its tucked in the ceiling or worse been cut off. If this was standard to put a defroster only on one side, does anyone know whythey would do that?

Sorry to hear about your truck getting broken into. To answer your question, the drivers side does not have the defrost wire like the pax side does. I always figured it was because the driver can’t see out that window from their seat anyway, but they can see out the pax side rear window, and may need to in order to safely pass another car, for example.

It's not a defroster, it's the radio antenna.

Seems like it was GM vehicles that used the windshield antennae setup the most. I had a 1980 Ford that had it fender mounted but remember my mom's 79 Chev Pickup and Aunt/Uncle's 82 Malibu had it in the windshield.

We had the wires in the glass until the early-mid '80s on our GM cars and then they switched over to fixed and powered external antennas. A, B and G-Bodies.
