How's your hand Steven? I still vividly remember the photos you posted. I agree with Joe about selling it but I would first try to change her thinking (fat chance I know! hehehe) that that truck saved your lives. Despite flipping over and going off the road, you all lived and they have the highest safety ratings and survival rates on the NHTSA website. There's nothing safer out there right now except a newer one.

Fix it, then get the house and then a 2021+, they look very different and may help ease her mind.
Hand will always have 2 scars and some nerve damage but doing good. Thanks for asking. I have a mechanic friend coming to check the gear box and driving shaft or whatever it's called. I'm not giving up yet lol

We are looking to upgrade to a bigger house so my idea was to buy an older Yukon or Suburban with no rust and fix what needs fixing. After we buy our home then I told her we could buy a newer 2016 plus.

Only thing I have left to check is the steering shaft and gear box because there is a little play in the steering wheel.

After doing my pitman and idler arms it was like driving a different truck. There’s just about zero play in the wheel as well. I still need to replace the front shocks, as they’re not quite doing their job..

We used this one two different trucks we’ve had. One that had a HORRIBLE smoke smell and another one I just couldn’t put my finger on. Maybe cigar? We weren’t sure but it didn’t smell good and the dealership tried to cover it with the coconut smell. Yuck. Anyways we used this and left it for 2 days. It smells like chlorine for a few days after but now the smell is completely gone. Worked for the Tacoma that smelled like smoke too. Just follow the directions to a T. Auto Shocker ClO2 car interior odor eliminator https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001H8VLFC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3X46Eb3T1HDW0

You're right about immediate noticeable impact. While I was replacing my cracked heads, I decided to throw a Delco Professional Idler Bracket and Arm on since it was right there with the fan shroud removed. I am fairly certain the bracket was never replaced when the arm was done 5-6 years ago.

If your rear shock’s air bladders are shot it can make the back wallow back and forth and affect the steering, also your front jounce stops like mentioned. As well as sway bar endlinks being shot, or steering components being worn.
Check the pump that fills the bladders that might be causing the service ride error message
