I have had to rely on this forum many of times for my ‘02 Chevy Tahoe. Now I’m back again. I love my truck but the issue I am having is not an easy decision to deal with. I have cooper all Terrain tires on a 2wheel drive Tahoe LE? Or Lx 4 door: Anyway, I have had nothing but issues with the front end pulling tot he right. I’ve had enough alignments and one shop said they had to lift it and try to rotate the tires. Another said he saw nothing, and did his alignment fine. After the alignments she drove well but still has a little more of a pull to the right than I’d like. I have been advised to change all 4tires out and start with new ones. Several mechanics have examined her and every time they do nobody sees any evidence of it being wrecked. I have a noise in my drivers side that almost sounds like a thump. We have changed the shocks front and rear. Will all terrain tires mess up the ride on this Chevy truck? I can’t afford to keep changing things around and hoping to get to the bottom of the issue. The other noise is also in my front end and sounds a bit like a squeal from maybe brake pads and or rotors. Those are also new. So I’m besides myself, she’s a good truck but do I rly need to get rid of the all terrains and buy some regular truck tires. They are the right size rim and I didn’t go bigger or change any suspension. Thanks for your time. Any suggestions are appreciated.

from what you have written I would say your first clue is brake/hub/suspension related
tires can be "bad" but if they have been flipped/rotated with zero change, then I would be looking hard at other causes.
you really didn't give any details but if you are running absurd large tires and spacers and all that garbage, then maybe that is your issue.

Are three brake hoses new and calipers in good shape? Nothing drags? Did they try changing the wheels around to different positions.

I had a right side pull problem once on one of my vehicles that a couple places couldn't fix. I mentioned it to a different shop and he checked it adjusted it for road crown and never had problems again.

my vote is the caliper is dragging. either bad hose, or caliper, its over 25 years old now if its never been changed could be bad. calipers also stick and drag.

jack that wheel up see if it spins freely after pushing on the brake pedal.

Thanks no I didn’t change sizes and they’re not monster truck tires. I’m sry I don’t know what spacers are they are simply copper all terrain tires. I appreciate your response. We will continue to try and find out what is the cause of the noises. Even if my mechanic has to tear apart the steering column. He did say at one time he had to get into a steering shaft for his fam members Chevy. He also has dealt with someone else who had issues and he traced it down. I am simply wondering what the issue cld be and if I needed to get rid of decent tires and put “regular” truck tires on her. Thanks again I love my Chevy even though I spend on repairs. It’s a good truck that rides well and has been reliable for me. I also appreciate the feedback on this forum.
