Here we go--I have done a search--
2009 Tahoe LTZ that has been to the dealer four times for wind noise.
They have resealed the front window and worked on the door weatherstrippings with no luck.
I am now getting--
"It is not as bad as some of the others we have seen."

In a strong crosswind when moving along at 70 MPH the noise turns into a real screech.

Has anyone used:

I'm open to any suggestions here.

Thanks!

I haven't had any screeching issues...But do you have those little rain/vent visor things for the side windows? When I installed them, I noticed that they generate a lot more turbulence/noise than without them.

I wouldn't spend $35+shipping on a generic piece of weatherstripping, though. Just go to your local auto parts store and buy a cheap roll of it that has an adhesive backing. Clean the area with rubbing alcohol, let dry, and apply. If it doesn't work, get some 3M adhesive remover or a 3M eraser wheel to remove the gunk and try again.

From what I read (and the few I have test driven, plus the one I own), you are going to get a moderate bit of wind noise in the gmt900. If I recall correctly, it is with the big side mirrors and A pillars, since that is right by the driver. The folks in the rear probably wouldn't notice it much at all. The best description I remember reading was something akin to (paraphrasing) "There is so much sound deading and the ride is so quite, that wind noise is really pronounced and stands out." Now, since I haven't heard your noise, I can't say if it is in reason, but I can say that all of the gmt900 I've driven had, what I perceived to be, a lot of wind noise.

Some answers--
The truck is stock--No sun roof--
No bug shield/hood protector/vent/deflectors at all.

I had one email that suggested that I just turn up the volume on the radio.

2ELO--
I'll give your idea a try.
I am a bit reluctant to spend the $35 anyway.

baron--
That is exactly what the dealer is telling me.

Thanks for the inputs!

I have heard about some issues with the windshield causing some sound. I would tape off the leading edge of the doors with masking tape so as to rule out or pin point the doors being the problem. Mine is quiet, so I know you're having an issue. Check you windshield to see if there is a variation from left to right along the top. I had a bug screen and while it was on there I heard a sound at highway speeds. Took it off and it was gone.

Yeah, not that I would trust what the dealer said, but every one I have been in has had the wind noise, some worse than others. It is not always the same (or so I think, but it is very subjective based on a number of factors), for instance, the '09 Tahoe I test drove seemed to have a lot more noise than the '07 Yukon we ended up getting.

Now, again, if it is an excessive amount of wind noise, that is different (again, subjective). I'll put it this way, the Yukon seems to have a lower internal volume than the '01 x5 I traded in, the '04 Focus we have, my sisters '03 Lexus ES, and my mom's '08 M35x, but you get going at around 70 and the wind noise is louder than any of those (it is still less noisy per say, but the wind noise is so pronounced, well, it's hard to explain, it is just different).

I'm certainly not saying that you shouldn't be trying to get the dealer (or yourself) to cut it down, but I think that a good bit of it is going to be normal. Again, it is very subjective though, kind of depends on what you are normally used to driving.

Interesting.. Are three weeks or so into a new 10 Tahoe LT Z71. It has intermittent wind noise like a whistle on the driver side at 60 mph and higher. Sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesnt. Ill drive it a while and if it continues take it back to the dealer and see if he can fix it. Sounds like it may be something I just have to live with.
