Interesting.. Are three weeks or so into a new 10 Tahoe LT Z71. It has intermittent wind noise like a whistle on the driver side at 60 mph and higher. Sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesnt. Ill drive it a while and if it continues take it back to the dealer and see if he can fix it. Sounds like it may be something I just have to live with.

I have the exact same intermittrnt whistle!

I assume we are talking about the "wind coming through the seal" wind noise...

Maybe you all are just unlucky, but an 07 Tahoe and an 09 Denali in suburbs have no problems, and an 07 Tahoe and an 08 Yukon in mountains with snow and crap don't have issues either...

Hmm... well, a whistle is different. I haven't heard that, just regular (though more than I am used to) wind noise. I'd have a whistle, especially on a ride that new, looked at to the fullest extent.

The windshield looks good--and it has been resealed.
The "screech/whistle" came on a trip to Lubbock. If you have ever been in the Lubbock area, you know what happens up there when the wind decides to blow New Mexico thru town.
I was moving at 70 MPH and the wind was moving around 25 MPH from left to right.

The taping of the doors will occur next.

From what I read (and the few I have test driven, plus the one I own), you are going to get a moderate bit of wind noise in the gmt900. If I recall correctly, it is with the big side mirrors and A pillars, since that is right by the driver. The folks in the rear probably wouldn't notice it much at all. The best description I remember reading was something akin to (paraphrasing) "There is so much sound deading and the ride is so quite, that wind noise is really pronounced and stands out." Now, since I haven't heard your noise, I can't say if it is in reason, but I can say that all of the gmt900 I've driven had, what I perceived to be, a lot of wind noise.

i remember that .......wasnt this on an older post sometime last year? i kinda had an issue like it.
if its the same kinda noise ....maybe the old thread could be dug up on the site.
there were good number of posts on there.

I'm open to any suggestions here.

Thanks!

Bob

Hi Bob, good name :waytogo:

I had the same issue, windy where I am. In my NBS I installed a second weatherstrip underneath mine from the junkyard. (And it's thicker than the one you linked)

I'm going out of town tomorrow for a few days. I plan to start with the tape trick and go from there.

Thanks for all of the suggestions!!
