Just acquired a "new-to-me" 2008 Yukon XL Denali with 20 inch chrome wheels. I'm attempting to get ahead start on the winter driving season and would like to put together a nice snow tire/wheel combo. I'm looking for recommendations on which size works best for the Denali's capabilities on the wintery streets of Michigan. I know that most of the full size trucks wheels are interchangeable. Can I purchase a nice 17" x 7.5" wheel (6x139 bolt pattern) and apply a tire that will keep my speedo relatively accurate? From an online tire size conversion calculator, it looks like a 265/70/17 will be an appropriate fit. Will this size tire seat good on a 7.5" wide wheel? Any issues with brakes or suspension components? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
