Hello,

Recently purchased a 2022 Yukon Denali XL with wireless charging included.

Wireless charger worked fine with my iPhone 12 in its case, tested with multiple phones.

After getting the 14 pro it would not work with or without a case. It just keeps turning on and off.

After some google searches I found this is a major flaw from Apple due to the camera bump, only affecting the iPhone 14 pro not the pro max. The camera bump causes to large of a gap between the charging pad and magnets in the phone.

I tried adding a MagSafe case which has additional magnets in the case for charging and other attachments, no luck there.

Now I’m using a wired connection which is also forcing my phone to use wired car play and the wireless auto play is not really working anymore.

This is aggravating and I understand it’s Apple problem and hopefully they will come up with a solution whether it be an adapter or special case to correct the issue ( doubtful)

For now I plan to get an apple usb c MagSafe charger to lay in the charging dock so I can still do wireless charging and wireless Apple car play.

Has anyone else come across this and found any workaround for this issue?

Thank you in advance!!!

My Iphone 13 mini has the same issue. camera hump and won’t charge wirelessly. wireless carplay works with cable plugged in for me no problem so it’s possible but…i’m using the usb-c port from the center console.

Wow, thanks for reporting that. I would not have seen that one coming... Hopefully you find a good solution.

I have 14 Pro Max, going to see if it will charge of course that will require cleaning the charging pad area out as my wife uses it for storage

I use the wired CarPlay as I am not happy with the wireless CarPlay as it seems laggy and it tends to disconnect a lot.

Is there a benefit to wireless Carplay vs wired Carplay? Just curious...
The issue I found is now my car is waiting for the cable to be plugged in to use it vs immediately connecting wireless. I’m not always charging the phone in the car so I’d like to be on wireless for CarPlay and not tied to the usb cable.

For reference I was using the usb A port. I will try it out with the usb C when I get a chance and see if I can adjust the settings.

use a regular house 110 charging block in the 110 outlet and you can skip the carplay if you'd want. Then you can charge it and still have bluetooth...

Ah - that makes sense. It's probably already connected once you open the door and the rig starts to wake up. Plus if it's in your pocket it's connected and you don't have to take it out just for Carplay. Got it - thanks!

My only hesitation with this device is it may present the same problem as the issue is the phone not the stock wireless charger.
