Okay besides half the lights being burnt out on my ac control when i go to turn my temp knob is goes all over place i was at 60 degrees i wanted to turn it up as i i was turning it its going 60 -65 back down 60 then to 70 then 65 then 73 then 63 etc etc .... Any idea if there is a fix or is the unit needing to be replaced? and is it easy and a direct swap or need to be programmed or something?

Its the encoder getting wore out. Thats what youre actually turning when you turn the knob. Think of it as a switch without the click feeling of a normal switch but instead of passing current or not like a typical switch does the encoder passes a logic signal to the AC control unit to increment up or down the temp setting. Your encoder has worn out spots or is dirty.
My Tahoe has similar problems that arent yet as bad as yours. Let me see if I can find a replacement encoder without going through GM or aftermarket to get a whole control head.

Ill post up what I find.
