Won't start...

I can't get my OBS to start...I initially thought it was the battery and found out that my alternator was bad. I've changed the alternator and replaced the battery and I still can't get it to start. All of the lights and electrical equipment come on when I put the key in but when I turn it nothing happens. Does anyone know what the issue is?

Run jumper cables to the starter and see if it will crank.

Haven't tried the cables to the starter...but I got a brand new battery and I even tried hooking up cables to the alternator and I got nothing but lights and a very loud viper alarm. I'll try the starter hook up tomorrow.

Take the cables off the starter, with the truck off run one jumper cable to the positive lead on the starter. If the starter is good it should spin.

Then run the jumper cable to the solenoid and make sure that engages.

vats or passlock system? mine just took a dump on me but the truck would turn over and start for one second and die, dont know if that might be your problem. is the security light flashing?

i think if the security light stays on, its the security module behind the radio. (Depending on what year, i had a 00 denali)
