what do you guys think? its an '04 with 89K miles. SLT, 2wd, 3rd row seat 20" wheels, carbon with the tan leather. i have them worked down from 15,999 that they were asking. spent 4 hours at the dealer, and left a week ago. they have since called me back 2 times this past week. we are now at 12,300...

thanks for any input or advice.

KBB it. See what it's really worth and have them do a carfax for you. Personally, I don't like how dealerships can charge 2-3000 more than what a car is worth but, on the other hand, you know exactly what you're getting... sometimes. Good luck, hope to see you back here with a new yukon.

thanks chauncey0337, i checked KBB and it books around 18k. they originally wanted 16k for it, and now that im at 12,300 i think its a good deal for me. i suspect they are going into the 'pack' to get to that price, because now they want 300 down. when i worked in the car biz the money down was typically the profit on a tight deal like this.

i think that now everyone wants the new body style, so the older ones are sitting longer and being sold for much less than the newer ones.

it seemed to drive nice and all, but i currently have an '03 ford reg cab work truck with the 5.4 motor. my truck seems to have gobs more power than this 5.3L yukon? is this because of the added weight? then again, the yukon does have 20" wheels with 275-55-20 tires on it which i suspect robs some of the performance i am used to as well.

anyways, decisions, decisions.... i dont want to be unhappy with the truck- i dont have the money or time to mess around with buying another truck

Wow almost $6000 under kbb, might be a good deal if there's nothing wrong with it. Yeah, these suvs are pretty heavy compared to pickups hence the feeling of difference in power and bigger wheels need more power to get em going. I have 275/55/20s also and they are almost 2" bigger than my stock wheels and tires. Anyways, don't get pressured into it, follow your heart, lol!

That sounds a lot like my truck (Mine's an '03 though). I would jump on that if I were you (assuming there's nothing they're hiding from you.)
