Quick question. I’m looking into getting my 2016 Yukon Xl Denali leveled and some beefier looking tires for my stock 20” wheels. Possibly the Wrangler DuraTrac. Would 285/60R20 fit? I’m looking to really fill out the wheel well as much as I can without rubbing. Thoughts? Other options? Am I crazy? You can be honest. I have thick skin.

(Yes, I have searched and I haven’t found a relevant thread/topic. Yes, I understand that the speedo would be significantly off. Yes, I understand the mpg would decrease. Yes, I have seen the Google Doc about what fits, but this size isn’t listed…. I’m assuming because it may not fit…)

Thanks for the reply NowZoomer!

By chance did you mean that 285/60/20 is 33.5", and not 34.5"? According to tiresize.com, it looks like the diameter of the 285/60/20 is 1.6" bigger than stock (31.9" v 33.5"), and 1/2" larger than your 275/60/20. With your 1.5 level are you experiencing any rubbing? Do you know how close your tires get at full lock either way?

Really appreciate the assistance on this!

Sorry, I misread your OP as 285/65/20

You're right 285/60/20 is 33.5 vs my 275/60/20 33.0

If you really want, you could have the tire shop order the larger size and see if they will fit real time

When I was shopping, the KO2s weren't available in 285/60 so I went 275/60

No rubbing but I physically cannot see how a larger tire can fit at full lock on my 1.5, it is really really tight

Not sure if it helps, but I'm running 305/45/22s. Rubbed in the front during at almost full lock. I put a 2" level on and rubbing is all gone.

Ask him to post a side shot, if he only did 2.5 in front without the 1 in the rear, he's going to be slightly nose high when empty, even worse with people and stuff in the back
