Would this be a dumb idea?

I use the parking brake on any incline. Flat ground usually never. But if you use it enough it doesn't "rust away" or seize. Using it daily keeps it functional. Whenever I do use it, I throw it in neutral, set the brake, let the driveline/suspension "settle", then put it in park.

Something I discovered when I was searching for a new diagnostic tool is the new cars have an automatic electronic parking brake. You put it in park and it automatically sets the parking brake. The problem with this is that if your battery dies or something goes haywire in the electronic setting system you can't move the car! Some of the Bidirectional Diagnostic Scanner tools have a way to disengage it. That's a big "no thanks" for me. I'm about to go back to pre '78 for everything that doesn't have electronics! LOL!

Some of the new vehicles have electronics that can control pretty much everything including steering, braking, throttle etc. and then combined with the fact they’re connected to the internet. Its kinda scary if you think about it, it could malfunction or be taken over remotely and driven over a cliff or into oncoming traffic.

I am gonna stop using the initials LOL, because let's face it, do we really Laugh Out Loud? I am gonna use GAL for Grunt And Laugh.

Don't get me started on acronyms. It took me a long time to figure out what SMH stood for. I thought I was being insulted! Again Google saved me, or them really. I have only recently caved because of all the kids and grandkids I have. I'm still stuck waay back when I got a pager and was thrilled I could say 07734 to my wife. ROTFLMAO!
