Feb 3rd, 2023 I went into the local GMC and ordered a 2023 Yukon Denali XL at MSRP, the manager told me it would be a few months, no problem. Dropped by to check on the status today (two months later) and they couldn't find me in the system. I have the build paperwork and sent it over when I got home. But now I'm thinking, maybe I just wait until later this year and get the 2024? Does anyone know if there are significant changes coming next year?

2024 is supposed to be a mid cycle enhancement. Both Ford and GM keep increasing production/sales numbers every quarter. The economy is not getting any better. Also, 2025 is supposed to be a refresh for the Expedition as it is usually refreshed 1 year after the F150 refreshes.

I think it depends on how long you can wait. 2025-2026 is definitely a better time to purchase a full size SUV. Ford and GM should have adapted their production to demand by then. I'm planning on buying a 1/2 ton pickup in 2024 and holding off on a full size SUV purchase until 2026.

I would imagine the interior is going to look like the refresh Silverado/sierra and the front end is suppose to be a little different, and probably a couple new rims. That’s it I think….there’s a 2024 refresh thread with some sneak pictures on here

If I waited for everything I thought would be better later, I'd still be driving my old 2008 MDX. Not going to have too many more new vehicles. Buy what you like now, them get another one in 3-5 years if they are THAT much better....

you may not have a choice at this point. believe the 2022 orders shut down sometime in mid-May last year, so if the 2023 schedule is similar and you "weren't in the system", then doubt you'll be getting one of their 2023 allocations unless you really push...which sounds like you have a case to jump others in line if you have a build sheet from three months ago.

A 2023 accepted now would probably be delivered mid-June at the very best and sometime late summer more than likely. It's possible there will be 2024s hitting the lot before some 2023s will arrive but for sure probably won't be until around August

i'd ask when they are going to be able to order 2024s (maybe ask a couple dealers and average the responses) and then make a decision from there

me personally - I'd find a truck with the updated interior and see if I like it better over the current Yukon interior and make a decision based on that...if I didn't care, I'd lean towards still trying to get a 2023 (going to be cheaper and at least you know the timeline starts now)

Much appreciated everyone... I get a new luxury SUV every 5 years like clockwork (chasing IRS deductions). Infinity QX (twice), 2018 Navigator, and now want to try the Denali (Ultimate's are hard to find). I'll take your advice and search old threads and go check out the Sierra.

2024 production is scheduled to start 11/6/23. Will be late 23, early 24 before the 24MY start hitting dealers.

Just my opinion, but I never purchase a new build, aka enhancement, the first year. I wait until the 2nd year, too many issues on first year changes. Some folks like t live on the edge, which works for me, they work through the issues so I don't have to.

Unlikely hitting the lot until q4(minimum) of this year. They have to switch over tooling during the summer months, plus their month-long shut down. It's a new model year, so there are changes too.
