I was cleaning out my Tahoe and stumbled across this 8" woofer. I had no idea there was a stock woofer in the back. My truck is an LS model non Bose.

Yeah it didn't sound to good. Says 2ohm on the back, the other speakers are 4ohm. Could this be swapped out for a better woofer?

Yes. You can swap in a nice 8 or build a box like I did. You can get a nice 8 online for under2 that would sound nice with a mono amp driving it. I have. 10 I. The picture

I don't know the box depth that you have. But this is a sweet little 8 SUNDOWN AUDIO SD-2 8 D4 8" SLIM MOUNT SUB DUAL 4 OHMS SHALLOW BASS SUBWOOFER

Needs a 0.25cu/ft box and a mount depth of 4.75"

This sundown 8 is a nice little speaker that I feel would be a nice replacement

i am going to cut out the subwoofer grille thats on the panel and make it come out through there flush but thats why i will be doing fiberglass so the sub can get as much space as possible

Just replaced mine today with this: KICKER
Key on the customer images and you can see it itstalled in the box, although even with trimming i couldn't get it to fit flush like they did. Sounds great.

Firehill are you running stock amp?
Yes! The only thing that has been changed is the head unit to Kenwood. Maybe the box is a little deeper on Tahoe's/Yukons and thats why mine wouldn't fit flush even after trimming.
