wtf is the random plug in my dash?

i was putting in my new white face guages when i found this plug wrapped in foam just tucked uder the gauges anyome know what its for?

ebay took awhile to find the right one in kms and upto 180

I came across the same thing too, and asked at the Chevy dealer and was told its an unused wire, could have been for an option the truck didn't have

that plug can be a sortment of things

Hatch button, wiper button, fog light switch, cargo light ect ect.. they only make one harness from the factory instead of 15harnesses with different options..
