Hi all I’m in the process of doing a few upgrades to my 2003 yukon. I’ve got a 6” and 20x14s that I’m putting on soon and I’ll probably make a build thread at some point. Anyways I’d really like to do a dual exhaust system, but don’t want to spend a ton of money. I found a system for a Silverado of the same generation on eBay and I’m wondering if it’s possible to somehow make it work on the yukon.

I wasn’t aware of that but I’m not really interested in using used stuff, especially since that kit comes with all the install hardware. What is a “true dual”

Well actually scratch that I definitely mis read that haha. However the systems I’m finding for that are all around 3x as much and the same price as the normal tahoe/yukon ones

From what I understand all the SUVs and trucks with the 5.3 V8 have a 2.5 inch diameter exhaust system. And the 6.0 V8 truck’s and SUVs have a 3 inch diameter exhaust system. Which engine do you have?

5.3. I was under the understanding mine was 2.75. But I believe that kit is for a 5.3 1500 so it should word as far as diameter

I’d like to add I do think it will fit, because it says it’s applicable with all 1500s. A single cab short box wheelbase is 119” and a tahoe is 116”. However I want to be sure because I’m not sure if they’re the same mechanically in that area

just curious what your other upgrades are... with 20 x 14s (wow & what tires are you running?), and a 6" lift, you are going to need gears. I hope you are expecting about 8mpg, possibly worse.

The tire is gonna determine whether or not he needs to regear. If he's gonna run 33's it's not gonna matter much at all. plenty of people run stock gears on lifted trucks. It's not like he's gonna stuff 44's under it, 6" is a pretty mild and common lift.
