The point is however that any film, unless it's able to block light coming through it completely, is going to look lighter than the paint around it because of the light reflecting back from the housing. Plus at night you'll have amber light coming through the parking light bulb behind it.

Which was also the case with mine. the vinyl looked lighter even though it matched my paint 100% because of the light behind it and the sun lighting up the housing underneath the vinyl

Yup yup ... but I've been looking at this image in the OP's album and it actually pretty close:

picture.php

But only he can tell us if honestly in the sunlight and at night he has the same translucence issue and to what degree. Because if this method resolves it to a reasonable extent, the actual design of the lid itself is easy to change to one's taste, including to make it look like in that chopped pic.

I just wish it was cut like the photoshop pic is... In line with the hood and not all the way over to the side

The photoshopped pic fooled me pretty good lol. I thought it was a sick looking Yukon. I don't think I like the eyelids. I wonder what it looks like when your turn signal is on? Like a half circle, on an angle? Idk..

Photoshopped one looked good...real life one-not so much ;)

I think it cheapens the overall look of the vehicle...sometimes less is more....

Not every modification that's somewhat out of the box is ricey by definition. Other than the wheel choice, I actually think that photoshopped Yukon would look beautiful in real life if the mods were executed properly.

The pic in my album is a painted light cover NOT the actual eyelid that was created by carbon fiber. I painted those light covers with ppg paint and there is no light bleed. Neither will be the eyelid. It will actually look allot cleaner as a eyelid and not a light cover.

For 50 bucks the eyelids will change the look of your nose completely. I don't mind if I am the only one with them.

Do you think your guy, if asked, could make them in the shape of the one in the chopped pic?
