Z71 Ultra Silver bumper insert finally GONE!!

The blue you bought, was it Bermuda blue? I am curious to see how close it comes to matching.

If you paint something, please post a pic. I am dieing to know how close it comes.

Dupli-color does not offer 'Bermuda Blue' unless you special order a custom batch. Since it was just the bow tie I intended to paint, I settled for Krylon Navy Blue Metallic Gloss, I thought it would be close. Since then I have noticed that "GM Indigo" (which is offered by Dupli-color) looks like a dead up match, minus the flip effect. As of now I haven't painted with either one of them.

Since Im kinda torn between leaving it silver or giving blue a shot, I may paint the rear emblem blue and see how it turns out. If I do I'll surely post the results.

How'd you get that silver portion off, I'm looking to get mine painted, but body shop wanted $250 to get it off, repair, paint and I'd be out of my car for 2 days.

It just snaps off. I was in the process of removing the lower brush guard and realized two of the screws were behind the silver insert - thats when I learned it just snaps off. Id recommend starting from the very bottom on each side and work your way up. I only paid $75 to get mine painted, but no repairs were necessary on mine.

Thanks and the Ultra Silver Dupli Color has held up like a champ. Its been thru 6 months of weather, bug guts, and countless $8 brushless car washes and it still looks good. I might sand it down and add a fresh coat this spring.
