For what it's worth, my 2016 Yukon SLT and 2020 Denali both had laminated glass on front and back door windows. That would be surprising if GMC reversed course.
The one caveat to what I said earlier is that more ground clearance would be nice, but I still wouldn't want much more if any lift height if you're going to be doing any off-camber driving.
If you're really looking to overland, depending on where you plan on going, I wouldn't want a lift based on my experience in my Yukon XL. It's already uncomfortably tippy on some Colorado trails. Keep your COG as low as possible. I'm running 34x11.50 on 18x9 wheels with 20mm offset with 2"...
I mounted a swing-out tire carrier on my Yukon which now blocks the view of the back-up / reverse camera. Has anyone relocated theirs to the top of the liftgate?
As a side note, my transmission was replaced at 50K.
@2001 TX Tahoe Please start your thread in instead of piggy backing on another thread cause the bulk of members here will not see it. Adding your year and model will also help.
I had my 2016 Yukon transmission serviced for the first time at 98K miles. Drain, fill, new filter, and deleted thermostat. On they way home from the shop it started running very rough, felt like it was misfiring. Did this about 3 times. Threw a PO171 code. Back to the shop, the code was...
This is all very helpful. Thank you.
Ballpark, what should an ECM tune cost from a reputable tuner?
Deleting the hardware... is this a "tear the engine down" type of mod? How expensive and complex?
Finally, what happens when the dual mode lifters fail?
Interesting. I wonder if that makes them more prone to failure, because I have heard that they are a known failure. And to clarify, both cases are 2015-2020.
I have two friends, both with 6.2L motors under 100,000 miles, that have had to replace their motor mounts. Is this specific to the 6.2L or is it an issues with the 5.3L as well?
I’ve read some about this topic but need some educating. I understand there are components (lifters?) that are responsible for switching between V4 and V8 modes. I've also read there is an OBD II module to override this so that it stays in V8 mode. Also read this is just a band-aid. So, am I...
Thanks for the feedback. Good info.
I guess I'm wondering about the geometry of the rear suspension regardless of spring manufacturer. At what height will it throw things off? For example, my 6" BDS lift came with brackets for the control arms and track bar.
Air Bags - I came across the...
