When you are traveling at highway speeds and hit a bump, it bounces like the Watusi. If you don’t have control of the steering wheel and hit a big bump going highway speed, you could lose control. My shop diagnosed them and said they were bad.

Can’t believe how expensive just one rear KYB shock is for over $300. Am I seeing that right?

Yes, they're expensive. That's why some folks will replace with good used ones, or convert the shocks and springs to standard if they don't need the adjustability. Hopefully your shop is familiar with the self-leveling shocks (many aren't up to speed on how they work) -- did they give you an alternative or other solution?

Is the suspension fully stock or has it been lifted, lowered, or ??? Do the jounce stops in front touch the lower control arms at ride height?

Needing new front and rear shocks on my 03 rear wheel drive Tahoe. I don’t really want to spend a tone on them. I saw a set of 4 ACdelco gas charged shocks for around $190. I tend to stay away from super cheap ones like Duralast. Just want something that’s gonna give me a comfortable ride like it was when it was new and not spend a time. I’m just a daily driver. Mostly decent roads, sometimes towing on occasion.

Any thoughts or suggestions?
I recently finished a complete steering and suspension (except springs and torsion bars) restoration on my 2003 Tahoe which has 160 K miles and the ZW7 & G65 Premium Smooth Ride option. My steering was getting really loose and one of my rear shocks (Nivomats) was leaking. I replaced both with Nivomats (SACHS 030239 @ $280 each).
