Seems like ever since I took the driver side out I haven’t been able to get the old one or the new one to fit right.

You talking about the gap underneath and the top edge not lining up with the center grill?
If so, that has to do with the front bumper cover alignment. There should be some play if you loosen the bolts across the front above the grill

Hm I never removed any of the bumper cover bolts. Just removed the wheel well splash shield partially and than partially removed the bumper cover as well just enough to take the housing out

Like you’re saying if I loosen the bolts a bit I can get it where I want to? That makes sense if that’s what you mean

Probably. The front bumper cover has a hard foam insert across the front that fits pretty snug into a horizontal groove in the metal front bumper to help support it, but the bolts across the top above the grill and in front of the radiator cover do allow for adjustment of where that entire thing lines up.
Pic of my Yukon with front bumper cover off, but a Tahoe is the same. Only bolts holding bumper cover on are across the top, a coupe in each wheel well, and one on each side underneath behind the fog light/tow hook area.

I tried taking it apart again I couldn’t figure it out lol. Can you be more specific about this Groove the bumper goes into? That seems like it would help me.
Tbh I might just leave it. I know the headlight is secure. It seems the bumper is just a few hairs off. But I dont think it is affecting anything

Starting to think it’s just the headlight housing idk.
I wouldn’t need to remove any bolts if I didn’t remove any in the first place, or?
I must’ve just pulled the bunper cover to hard and than wasn’t able to properly align it on this alleged groove. Idk.

I updated my above post with a pic.
Shouldn't have to remove the entire bumper. There are like 4-6 10mm bolts across the top and I think 1 7mm bolt on each side (at least on my Denali bumper cover, a Tahoe may not have those 7mm bolts). Loosen all those up and grab the bumper under the grill opening with one hand and lift up while tightening a couple of the 10mm bolts across the top.
