At first, we thought the lifter issues were confined to a very short production time frame. Proved to be false. About every time we think 6.2 issues are behind us another one crops up with 3-7000 miles on it and has the same issues as one's 18 months before. As an expensive issue as this is I can't believe it would last more than a few months production of engines? I'm still not convinced that these issues are over with yet for good....

Main Bearing Failure with 6.2L at 3,200 miles

This is a common problem - Main or rod bearing issues with the brand new models at very low mileage. Talking with technicians frequently, they say it is because GM sources parts from the cheapest suppliers and manufacturers.

Probably will want the longer versions in a higher trim level eg High Country or maybe RST. I figure the cost is similar on these choices. I keep my cars a long time.

If you buy any one of the General Motors SUV's don't get the 6.2 engine, the reason I got rid of mine. The 6.2 engines have a high failure rate. I traded for a new Lincoln /navigator and although I am a diehard GM fan, the Navigator is far nicer, take one for a test ride to see for yourself.
